Packing it all in

No, I'm not "packing it all in" because I'm tired of being pregnant.  On the contrary, I feel great and I'm still hoping Baby decides to come a little late.  Remember?  I want him/her to be born on the tenth, so the birth date will be 9/10/11.  I'm being picky, though.  I'd rather not have a baby on Sept. 11th.  I know, I know.  I really have no say in the matter.  :)

Part of the reason I want Baby to come late (besides wanting as much time alone with Judson as possible) is that we still have things to get done.  Nate has been working really hard in our garage for a very long time now (building a room in it, wiring, adding heaters and lights, sheetrocking, etc.).  We paid someone to insulate it - it's cheaper than buying the insulation oneself.  Love that!  :)  Now we're paying someone to tape and texture it.  The reason for this project right now is that we're in desperate need of storage.  The room in the garage will be heated, rodent-proof, and full of shelves and then all sorts of stuff will be able to be moved out there.

THEN we can think about a new room for Judson.  Baby will eventually get the nursery but not any time in the immediate future.

Anyhow, since Nate didn't have anything he could do in the garage I took advantage of it and planned all sorts of things for this weekend.  Who knows?  It could have been our last weekend as a family of three.

Let me backtrack for a minute.  I've actually been packing in as many activities as I can during the past few weeks.  I'll spare you a blow-by-blow of the last few weeks and focus on just the past week.  After a few days of checking things off of my "Before Baby Comes" list, Judson and I took a trip to the zoo with some friends on Wednesday.

No, those were not our friends...just two big boys who walked up to where Judson was standing to watch the polar bears.  I thought it was so cute.

On Thursday, Judson and I played at the park with some moms and kids from our church's moms' group.  Then we went to Silverton Hospital's Family Birth Center to meet adorable Emmitt Olson (who was born on Wednesday).  That afternoon, we went to Garmin's company picnic and from there I headed  to Bridgeport Village to meet Lisa, Cheryl, and Elise (and baby Greyson) for dinner and to see the movie "The Help" (SO GOOD!).  Elise didn't stay for the movie, but we were so glad they could join us for dinner.

Friday was a much lower-key day.  I did have a midwife appointment and everything looked good.  I haven't gained any weight in two weeks, which I'm perfectly happy with.  I'm eating plenty (including ice cream every day), so no one's worried.  :)  We met the Renningers and Comptons in Albany on Friday night for the Art and Air Show.  Judson LOVED the hot air balloons.  I'd apparently never been that close to one (they were on the ground), because I had no idea they were THAT BIG!

On Saturday afternoon, we headed to Detroit Lake to visit the extended Nelson family (the Nelsons are the other family that live(d) on the ranch with my parents).  They were all up there for the weekend, so it was fun to hang out with everyone for a few hours.  I forgot my camera, but thankfully Krista took this picture.  I know, I know.  Judson's life jacket doesn't fit him.  We bought it in April and it goes to FIFTY pounds, but it just doesn't zip (it used to...just not anymore).  He was all strapped in, however, and the boat is really quite safe (very high sides and not tippy).  We will be looking for a bigger life jacket ASAP...
38 weeks pregnant, with a huge wet spot on my belly because Judson went swimming and got me all wet...
On Sunday, my parents came down and we went to the State Fair, but I'll save that for another post...unless Baby decides to come in the meantime.  Then it will remain unblogged...  :)

Final days as a family of three...

A friend from church, Hollie Miller, took some maternity/family pictures for us last weekend.  Mostly I just wanted them for my personal documentation.  Some turned out really well, though, so I thought I'd share them here.  Don't worry - I'm mostly including ones of Judson.  :)  (He was fairly uncooperative throughout the shoot, but you can't really tell by the pictures.)

Thirty-seven weeks pregnant...

I really like this picture of us.  I realize our color scheme is a bit much, but I don't have all that many clothing options at this point.  Of course Nate loves it...always the ultimate Beaver fan...  :)  And I can always just change it to black and white.

Random Summer Shots

Sometimes I just take my little point-and-shoot camera with us on our outings.  And then I forget to upload the pictures.  I found a few cute ones today I thought I'd share.

Lisa, her girls, and Judson and I met up at Elise's house to visit baby Greyson in early July.  Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures of Greyson.  (He's very cute and looks a lot like his big brother, Campbell!)  I did take these of Judson hugging Ella.  He got quite a reaction from everyone, and thus decided to hug her over and over.  We'd recently been camping with the Olsons and he and Madi would hug too.  It's awfully sweet!  He apparently has a thing for the older girls.  :)

Olallie Lake

This post is seriously belated.  I have no excuse.  Or maybe I do.  I'm thirty-eight weeks pregnant, have lots to do, and am running out of energy.  Judson pretty much takes every ounce of energy I possess these days.  Well, Judson and the heat.  Anyway.

Our third and final camping trip of the summer took place the first weekend in August.  We went to Olallie Lake with Mandy and Justin.  It's gorgeous, but out in the BOONDOCKS.  At thirty-five weeks pregnant, I didn't really enjoy attempting to sleep on an air mattress or having to get up off said mattress in the middle of the night to pee, but I survived and we did have fun.

Nate had recently bought a drift boat and was very excited to use it.  (A drift boat is basically a huge row boat.  The nice thing about it is that it's not tippy and has high sides, so we didn't have to worry about Judson falling out.)

**After spending forever uploading pictures, I somehow lost a bunch of them.  I have now uploaded them for a second time.  Some are out of order and the ones at the end are pictures from Mandy's camera.  I'm DONE dealing with this post.**

New chair from Grammie and Papa

The view of Mt. Jefferson as Nate rowed us across the lake so we could have the boat closer to our campsite.  Gorgeous!

First fish (of three total for the weekend)

Judson liked to say, "Hold you, fish!"
Hauling wood.  Good thing he had his blue sippy cup or he'd be invisible!  :)

He spent LOTS of time collecting pinecones and other things off the ground.+-

Everyone else went swimming on Saturday afternoon (well, Mandy waded).  I opted to stay dry and document the fun.  I was nearly eaten alive by mosquitoes in the process.  Ugh!

This boy sure loves water!

No matter how many times I cleaned his face, he'd look like this again within ten minutes.

So tired!

He really loved Ari...and she really loved him and all the food he hauled around at nose level.

He kissed it, too, but I didn't get a picture of that.  :)
I definitely just look fat here, but figured I should include evidence that I really went. :)
