Judson's First Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas! I may or may not write more later, but wanted to get some pictures posted.

Oh, Christmas tree...

Sunday was our day to get a Christmas tree. We weren't able to make it to early church (go figure!), so by the time we did errands and came home to eat, it was already after three o'clock. We had originally talked about going out to Nate's grandpa's tree farm near Silverton to get a tree, but knew we didn't have enough daylight left for that plan. So we bundled up (it was below freezing) and headed out to find a u-cut farm. We didn't want to go to the one we used to go to, because it's gotten really expensive. Anyway, we didn't have to go far. There turned out to be a place just about 300 feet up the road from us. It's never been opened before and there weren't really signs for it, so we just drove past, but then decided to go back to investigate. It turned out to be perfect, especially since we had less than an hour of daylight left. We found a beautiful tree in about ten minutes, and then I just walked home, because Judson was asleep in the Bjorn (front pack) and that way I wouldn't have to get him back in his carseat.
All bundled up and ready to begin our search...as the sun goes down

Our tree

The Bjorn had its usual affect on Judson...he got cranky for a minute or two and then conked out.
Funny story about this picture: We asked one of the guys working there to take our picture and he acted pretty unsure about it. Our camera, like many (or all?) digital camera requires that the user push the button down part way while it focuses and then push harder to actually take the picture. Well, this can be tricky for some people if they're not used to it. The guy kept pushing the button really fast and the little light we can usually see wasn't going off and neither was the flash. So, we didn't think he was taking any pictures. In fact, at one point, Nate checked to see and didn't think he'd taken one yet. Eventually a lady offered to do it and that's when we realized that battery was about dead. Oh, well...or so we thought. When I checked at home, I realized the guy had actually taken NINETEEN pictures. Some were blurry, but a few were pretty good. Poor guy... =)

First Walk in the Stroller

JuliAnn invited us to lunch at her house yesterday. After lunch (and a lot of chatting), we hit the streets of Stayton. It was fun to see some neighborhoods I haven't seen before. I love small towns! It was Judson's first time in his BOB stroller. (Wow! What a nice stroller! It handles so easily.) He stayed awake until the very end. (Staying awake was yesterday's theme. He slept a total of about two hours for the entire day and didn't go to sleep until 11:30. Unfortunately I'm not exaggerating... Thankfully, he was never fussy!)

Judson and Madi in their warm outfits. His is way too big, but did the trick.

Mission accomplished: two sleeping babies. It just didn't last long. =)
