Miss Macy

My sister-in-law Anna has started a blog.  You should definitely check it out, so you can see how ADORABLE my niece is!  If you're interested, see "The Boydstyles" on the right...

Snow!

I am posting these pictures so promptly in order to avoid housework during naptime.  Okay, I did already do some, but not nearly as much as I need to.  Still.  My parents are in Colorado for a couple of weeks and NEED to see new pictures of Judson.  Yeah, that's it.

We woke up to about three inches of snow this morning.  Judson and I headed out right after breakfast.  Miraculously, the 12-18 month Old Navy snowsuit still (sort of) fit.  (Old Navy sizes run small.  I was totally shocked I could even get it on him.)

Judson face-planted and I couldn't resist snapping this picture before helping him get the snow off of his face.

Big News

Yep.  It's true.  We will be becoming a family of four in early September.  We are VERY excited, though it does seem a little crazy to me, too.

I had a dating ultrasound this time around (only had one at 20 weeks with Judson), since I'm still nursing (just once a day at this point) and my cycle wasn't regular.  The ultrasound put my due date at September 9.  On the drive home, I realized if I had the baby on the tenth, its birthday would be 9-10-11.  I'm all about fun dates like that, so that's what I'm hoping for! :)

I was EXHAUSTED for a few weeks.  As in, I napped every single day.  Thankfully Judson's still taking two naps per day, so I had options as to when I napped.  I'll be eleven weeks tomorrow and am starting to have more energy again, which is wonderful.

Other than that, I feel terrific.  With Judson, I never threw up, but had to eat first thing in the morning and frequently throughout the day.  And though I mostly felt good, I also felt like I could throw up at the drop of a hat (if the toothbrush went too far back in my mouth, if I coughed too hard, etc.).  This time around, I don't have to eat first thing when I wake up and I'm not eating nearly so often throughout the day.  I also have no food aversions.  (Last time I couldn't stand the thought of chicken or any type of leftovers.  I couldn't even get them out of the fridge to put in Nate's lunch!)

And, of course, the big question is when we will find out Baby's gender.  Not until (s)he is born.  It was just too fun to be surprised last time.  And though Nate would find out early if it were up to him, he hasn't even tried to talk me into it.  :)

And a few more shots from our "photo shoot."  This kid never stops moving.  I'm glad we have a nice camera.  Otherwise we'd only have blurry shots of him! :)

My Birthday Outing

I had the flu for my birthday.  It was not fun, but I felt A LOT better than I had the day before and Grandma Becky graciously took the day off to take care of Judson.  So it could have been a lot worse.  Anyway, we didn't really celebrate until the following weekend.  Nate headed out bright and early on Saturday morning to get Starbucks and cinnamon rolls, which was a wonderful way to start the day!  We spent the day getting stuff done around here.  It turned out to be a gorgeous day, though that wasn't what had been forecast.  Since Sunday was supposed to be really nice too, we decided to head up to the zoo after church.  We've had our membership for ten months and used it a lot, but Nate still hadn't gone with us.

It was another beautiful day in Salem, but Portland was fairly cloudy.  The sun peeked out a few times, but it didn't rain, so that was ultimately all that mattered.  We had a terrific day!  We hadn't been for a few months and Judson LOVED all the animals.  He knows so many now, which made it very exciting for him.  Fish are a favorite, and they can be found in many of the different sections of the zoo.  We heard "sh" (his word for fish) over and over.  :)

Here are some pictures from our fun day.  (Super cute Nike boots and Columbia jacket courtesy of Aunt Anna and Uncle Morgan's trip to the employee stores...)

My guys are so cute!

Cougar cub

I know this is blurry, but I had to include it.  Judson doesn't pet animals; he kisses them.  :)

I got a really cute picture of Judson looking out from the petting zoo on Nate's phone and wanted to get one on our camera, too.  Just as I was taking it, he put his mouth on it.  Just building immunity, right?! :)

Balloons

I've mentioned it before, but Judson absolutely loves balloons. One day we were running errands next to the Dollar Tree and I decided to buy him a balloon.  Seriously the best dollar I ever spent.  He dragged it around EVERYWHERE...as you can see.  Then, a few days later, his Auntie M and Uncle Justin baby-sat for him and bought him two more.  Heaven for Balloon Boy!  He seriously did everything with them clutched tightly in one hand for about a week.  And he says "balloon" so cutely...with lots of "lalala" in the middle of the word.

Unfortunately, tragedy stuck the truck balloon.  It was sucked up a vent that Nate needed to special order a cover for and we couldn't have the heat on for the entire day until Nate got home to fix the situation.  Judson didn't seem to mind...he tried really hard to get the other balloons sucked up there too.  :)  (On the bright side: we now have vent covers!)

Reading with his balloon...and there's the gorgeous crib my dad built that I never blogged about
