Three Months Old!

I've been having Judson's picture taken monthly at Sears. I'm a "Smile Saver" member, which means there's no sitting fee and I get a free 8 x 10 each time I go. Plus the basic pictures are "buy one sheet, get one free" Monday through Thursday. I know it's probably overkill, but I'm all about documention. =) It's cheap and the pictures are decent, so for now I'll keep doing it. I just discovered that I could copy them from the online store to post here. They're not great quality, but you get the idea. I absolutely LOVE the first one! It's the first time we've been able to get Judson to smile when we're there, and he usually hates being on his stomach. He was super smiley today...maybe he was enjoying the complete nakedness! =)

Sporting the sweater vest

My uncle Jack sent Judson this sweater vest outfit when he was born. It fit perfectly for Christmas...Judson looked so spiffy. We celebrated my birthday at Paul and Becky's last night, so Judson wore his sweater vest one last time (it's getting quite snug on our massive boy). Becky took these cute pictures.
**I redid the "birth announcement post." You can click here to see the pictures we had taken at Sears when he was twelve days old. I know it's after the fact, but I thought some of you might like to see them.**

Facebook Links

I'm going to try this again. I posted links to my Facebook pictures when Judson was first born, but for some reason they didn't work. I think I've got it this time. There are tons of pictures here - way more than I could ever post on our blog. Well, I guess I could, but it would take HOURS.

Thirty-seven years

My parents celebrated their 37th anniversary on Wednesday. While I did NOT forget about it, I did fail to get a card in the mail. I told them it was because we had company over the weekend. (It was them - we picked them up from the airport and they spent the night with us.) =) Anyway, this post is their "Happy Anniversary" card from me. I love them both so much, and I'm so thankful and blessed that they're committed to their marriage for life! And because we're counting Judson as the gift for every holiday for at least a year, here are some pictures of their favorite (and only, for six more months) grandchild!

I hope to upload a few short video clips soon...

Smiley guy

We finally celebrated Christmas with Paul, Becky, Mandy, and Justin last night. I was able to get our best smile pictures to date while Becky and Mandy entertained our happy guy. Enjoy! =)

And a random picture. It cracks me up! Here's Judson wearing a hat my cousin, Jeff, and his family sent.

Medical Emergency

I had quite the scare on Friday morning! Before I describe it, let me start by saying this is something I'd actually read about happening before Judson was even born, so I've tried to be really careful about it. (Most people we've told have never heard about it happening before. ) Anyway, on Friday, I put Judson in his little bathtub and started to wash his leg. I noticed a hair (of mine) caught on his toes, so I quickly tried to yank it off. Well, he started screaming and then I looked closer. The hair was TIGHTLY wrapped around the toes and had been for quite some time. I couldn't even tell if I'd gotten it off, because his two little toes were dark red and extremely swollen! I finally determined I had, but I called the on-call nurse just to be safe. The hair must've been in the toe of his sleeper, so I had no idea how many hours it had been cutting off circulation. The nurse had me come in and the pediatrician (not our regular one) put on a special magnifying headset to make sure the hair was off. Sure enough it was...it had just cut into the skin so it was hard to tell. He was very nice and said it happens. He also assured me the toes would heal. Phew! Thank you, Lord!

These pictures were taken after the hair had been off for about three hours. (Today, they're looking much better, though they're still much bigger than his other toes and the second-to-last toe still has the cut clear around it.)
