New Art!

We went to Seattle to visit Forrest, Amy, and Ephraim, and to meet their newest addition, Selah, this weekend. Selah is a very sweet two month old. It was fun to snuggle with her! We had a great time together...lots of chatting, yummy wine and ice cream, and some fun walks.

Once we left their house, we headed over to Bess and Ellen's apartment. They hadn't seen Judson since January.

About six weeks ago, Bess was in a moped accident and nearly lost her foot. By the grace of God, it was saved, but she's had to undergo four surgeries and is facing at least one more in the next couple of weeks. (She showed me her foot...OH MY GOODNESS! It is something to behold. Nate couldn't look.) Anyway, her attitude is great, and we had a very fun visit. In all of her down time, Bess has been painting up a storm. She painted this adorable picture for Judson based on one she'd seen online. It's super cute...even has his name on the log. (I had a hard time getting the name to show up very well.) I can't wait to get it hung up in his room!

Just a few pictures...

We FINALLY had a few days of warm weather last week, so we wasted no time in getting out Judson's summer clothes. He's such a hot body...I don't think he'll be wearing anything but a diaper this summer. =) Anyway, Nate put Judson on his shoulders the other day and Judson LOVED it! I got some really cute pictures of him up there, so I thought I'd share...
Not a cute picture of me, so just focus on the "cuteness" of Judson and his outfit. =)

Pure happiness...

One Last Fourth Grade Field Trip

Judson and I met my class at their field trip location today. They were at the Stauffer-Will Farm in Aurora. We went every year that I taught fourth grade. My class always went with JuliAnn's and we always had a great time. It's a terrific field trip...very well run and the kids get to do all sorts of hands-on activities, including dipping candles, making rolls, and sawing and splitting wood (to make candle holders for their candles). I couldn't bear the thought of JuliAnn being there without me, so we headed up to visit. The weather could NOT have been more perfect today. Judson and I got there shortly before lunch and stayed until the end. He got a ton of attention (go figure!) and was a super happy guy until he got too hot. He's definitely his father's son...doesn't tolerate heat well. =)

I asked a student to watch him while I went to the car for my camera. This is what I found when I got back.

Ladies' man...

Little Friends

One of my best friends, Lisa, had Emilie just five days before Judson. From birth, they've shared a lot of similarities. Emilie weighed half an ounce less, was three-quarters of an inch shorter, and had the same dark head of hair as Judson. It's been so much fun to get them together. Though Judson is much heavier, Emilie is pretty good-sized, and they still have so much in common. We haven't gotten pictures every time we've been together, but these will give you a pretty good idea.

Meeting Emilie in the hospital, just four days before Judson was born...

Emilie at 20 days old and Judson at 15

Not quite two months old...they were both wearing their fleece jackets, complete with ears...

And most recently, at a play date at our house at six months old. They've lost their dark hair and now it's a similar much lighter color. Aren't they adorable?!
