March activities

I am terrible at keeping this blog updated! I can't believe March is over already. It seems like I just posted February pictures! Oh, well. Here's a brief update of what some of our days have consisted of lately. We've really enjoyed the sunny days and look forward to lots more.

On a walk with the Grandma Becky, Grandpa Paul, Auntie M and Uncle Justin)

My dad bought U of O season track meet tickets. Though the Moodys aren't Duck fans, we are track and field fans. We enjoyed a fabulous day together at the first meet of the season.

Micki and I took her three kids and Judson to the zoo. It was a gorgeous spring break day and everyone in the Portland area had the same idea. It was crazy-busy, but we still had fun.

Judson has since acquired an even cuter, larger bucket hat from Grandma Becky. It is sure to be in many pictures this spring and summer. Stay tuned!

Testing out Madi's Bumbo seat. The poor guy's legs are a bit chunky to fit comfortably. Add that to the extra bulkiness of cloth diapers and his excessive spitting up (especially when his stomach is squished) and the Bumbo is not his favorite seat in the house. =)

JuliAnn, Janelle, and I got together over spring break. It's incredible how fast our kiddos are changing! Judson is the youngest and definitely the biggest! Miss Madi is looking so grown up these days.

Bryson is five and a half weeks older. He's so cute! I love how we propped Judson up on his feet. Bryson, however, was unimpressed.

And just because it's fun to compare:

A Week in Colorado

My mom, Judson, and I flew to Colorado for a week in mid-February. It was really important for me that my aunt, Fleeta, could meet Judson while he was still little. Okay, so he wasn't that little, but he's still young. In fact, I think the timing was perfect because she could still hold him and his personality has really developed in the past few weeks. (For anyone who may not know, Fleeta is one of my favorite people in the entire world. She is a quadriplegic who has an incredible outlook on life. Despite her circumstances, she in constantly praising God.)

We had to leave our house at 4 a.m. on the 16th. We flew from Portland to Denver and then on to Colorado Springs. Then it was just an hour-long ride in the car and we were in Canon City. (Darn. I don't know how to make the little squiggly thing over the first 'n' in Canon. It's pronounced "Canyon.") Judson did amazingly well! He didn't fuss AT ALL. Thank you, God!

We had a great week with Fleeta. Judson loved all the attention from her and my mom. He smiled almost every time Fleeta talked to him...and most of the time his Grammie talked to him, too. =)

Our trip home went fairly well. The flight from Denver to Portland was incredibly hot. (I stripped down to a tank top I never intended anyone to see, but I was next to the window.) Judson spent the flight in only his diaper, but was still really hot and restless. Thankfully he was still pretty quiet.

Nate missed Judson terribly, but I'm hoping he'll forget just how much by the time the summer rolls around so we can go back! =)

This isn't a great picture, but it's "Judson's First Airplane Ride" so it has to be included. It was dark on the plane and I kept getting the guy across the aisle with my flash, so this had to be good enough. Judson loved sitting next to the aisle and watching everything that was going on. He conked out soon afterward...

Meeting Fleeta

My mom's twin brother Jack (yes, her name IS Jill) and his wife Donna came from Pine, CO to meet Judson.

Judson loved looking at their Scottie dogs through the window. They were more exciting than our cats because they acted excited to see him.

We trekked out to Westcliffe to see my cousin Jeff's gorgeous cabin. We couldn't get the van down the driveway, so we had to wade through the snow. Fleeta stayed in the van...

A blow-out that required me to move the car seat in order to get him cleaned up...

Getting ready to take some snow pictures...

Grammie and Judson in Fleeta's backyard

"Riding" on my grandpa's old saddle...notice the appropriate bib! =)

We played lots of games...mostly when Judson was sleeping. He seemed a little confused about the rules of Scotch Bridge... =)
