A Dire Situation

One of my mom's sisters, Roine, was diagnosed with terminal cancer (of the esophagus) in early August. It was so advanced that she chose not to do any treatments. She originally went to the doctor because she was having trouble swallowing. Soon she was only able to get yogurt and a few other soft foods down.

We had the chance to introduce Judson to Ro and her husband Jon four weeks ago when we were in Colorado. (More on that trip coming SOON.) At the time, we weren't sure if she was still going to be alive when we got there. We were so thankful that she got to meet Judson. They LOVED each other!

Roine was absolutely a skeleton at that time (as in, less than 70 pounds). Though she felt very hungry, her body just couldn't digest anything that she was able to swallow. Recently we learned that she hasn't eaten anything since we saw her (for FOUR WEEKS!!). She's been drinking Coke from Mexico, because it has real sugar in it.

Why am I sharing this tragic information? Because God's hand is so obviously at work in this situation. That may sound strange, since there's so much suffering taking place. Bear with me.

Roine's heart has been extremely hardened against God for a very long time. Currently there are many, many people praying for her salvation and we've seen glimpses of her heart softening. (While we were there, she asked us all to keep praying for her.)

It didn't look like Roine was going to survive the weekend and yet she's still alive. It seems God is giving her every last opportunity to turn to Him. So, before you move on to your next internet business, will you please say a quick prayer for her and her husband? Thanks. Hopefully someday you can meet them both in heaven!
