Our Birthday Boy

Judson turned four on the 24th.  His train park party was a whole month earlier and he was (understandably) slightly confused about the whole thing.

We started the day with gifts from us and my parents and then had pumpkin waffles with whipped cream and sprinkles before heading to Bible study.  It was still super foggy once Bible study was over at 11, so we came home for lunch and prayed the fog would burn off soon.  Thankfully it did!  The timing was perfect to get a round of miniature golf in before naptime.  (I'd been wracking my brain trying to come up with a fun birthday activity we hadn't done lately.  The day before, we drove past the miniature golf course downtown and Judson said something about wanting to play.  Perfect idea for the gorgeous weather we'd been having!)

Golf was lots of fun, though at every hole I had to make Judson wait for me...he was speeding right along.  Cooper happily carried her club and ball and refused to actually play with them (until we got to a hole where there were special holes that dropped the balls out elsewhere.  Those she wanted to do over and over. :)  We only saw two other people  on the course and they were finishing up as we got there, so it was nice to have the place to ourselves.

Once we were done, we headed home for naps and I got the house in order for our little party that night.  Paul Moody and Paul, Becky, Mandy, and Justin came over for pizza and cake and Judson had a terrific night.  We couldn't have asked for more.

Tools!

So happy!

The hole she'd actually play...well, drop the ball down at least.  :)

I can't resist.  I have to include this one.

So silly!

Excited for dinner (and mostly to have everyone at our house)

He modeled his Awana vest for everyone and then never took it off.  It's as big as they come for his age group and is so tiny on him!  :)

I found a game of "Pin the Skull on the Pirate Ship" at the Dollar Tree and knew Judson would love it.  Everyone was a good sport about participating.  Don't even try to figure out a theme for this party.  There wasn't one.  :)

A Woody and Buzz ice cream cake from DQ, which said "Happy 24th Birthday, Judson" when Nate went to pick it up.  :)

Love, love, love that smile!

Towards the end of the birthday song...

And that's where my documentation of our fun day stopped.  We are so thankful that God has entrusted this sweet, smart, STUBBORN boy to us, and we love him more than words can say!

Hahaha, because MOST 24 year olds request a Buzz and Woody cake?!?! Such a cutie! We sure love him too!
