Anyway, the parade was great and we saw (and chatted with!) so many people. Thankfully, my kids were very patient with all of the chatting. Phew!
On Sunday (Cooper's birthday), we had pictures taken by the lighthouse. I had such high (and apparently unrealistic) hopes and it was pretty much a nightmare. (Think: Cooper sleeping in, not getting her morning nap before we had to go, and screaming the whole time AND Judson being totally disobedient. Now throw in SAND and you have a pretty good idea. I had not considered how long it had been since Judson had been to the beach and that he'd just want to make a mess with sand. Cooper shoveled FOUR handfuls of sand in her mouth over the course of our time there, and at one point, Judson did it to be like her. He was not a fan, let me tell you. So, we were all covered with sand and the kiddos both had it running out of their mouths. UGH!) I did get to see a little preview of a few today and they turned out well, all things considered. I'll share some on here soon.
We decided to drive back EARLY Monday morning, so we bought a little carrot cake at the grocery store and invited Dee and Bob over to help us celebrate our birthday girl. Besides the beach fiasco, we had a fun day. Here are a few pictures from the ninth.
I'll share about her party soon. Unfortunately, there was also a fiasco involving the cake...
