Two Months

Our sweet guy is two months old already!  He's so smiley now and I just can't get enough of it.

A few other things to report:

* His most-used nickname is Porter Pie, but I also call him Baby Cakes and Babykins.  Nate sometimes calls him Guy Smiley. :)

* He's sleeping about seven hours straight most nights and just started going down earlier at night.

* Once he nurses in the wee hours of the morning, he falls right back to sleep...until I lay him down.  It has taken up to two hours to get him to stay asleep, and a couple of times I've resorted to leaving him in the swing at 5 am.  I NEVER did that with the other two!  (He's actually done better about going back to sleep the past few days.  I'm hoping it continues.)

* He found his tongue on Monday and now sticks it out frequently.

* He LOVES to eat and I usually have to cut him off so it doesn't all come right back up on me.

* I just tried tummy time with him for the second time, and he feels the same way as the other two did.  Does any baby like tummy time?!

* Just outgrew his newborn swaddlers. He's still wearing 0-3 month clothes, though the onesies are starting to be a little short.  All of my kids have long torsos.

* He's only ever had three (maybe four) diaper blowouts.  And they weren't true blowouts.  More like small leaks out the top.  I've only used disposable on him thus far because I had some left over from Cooper and then was given a LOT.  Usually disposable diapers are the worst for blowouts.

* He just developed his first fat-roll redness in his diaper area.  The first of many I'm sure.  It's nearly impossible to keep fat rolls dry down there (or anywhere, really)...

* He goes in for his two month appointment on Tuesday, so then I'll have height and weight stats.  I'm thinking he's about two pounds less than Judson was at this age.

This is the swaddler he outgrew.  I had to get a picture in it before "retiring" it.

Great smiles for Kathy Cowan when she and Jim stopped for a visit.

He loves bath time.  (He does not love getting out.)

First trip to the zoo (last Friday)

Ready for the Beaver baseball game...I have this exact same picture of Judson :)

Two month photo shoot

I couldn't narrow the following ones down.  One can never post too many smiley baby pictures, right?!  :)

He lasted long enough for me to take a few pictures and then he hollered.  He kept hollering once I picked him up.  I guess he showed me.  :)

Cooper lay down on this mat after her nap (yes, she's still obsessed with her jammies) and asked me to lay Porter next to her and take a picture.  :)

For your viewing pleasure

Here's a video I took on Friday.  (Porter started chuckling just about the same time he really started smiling at people.)  I can't believe this guy is two months old already!  As you can tell, I'm starving him.  :)

Loved.

(I got this post ready a week ago and never published it.  Porter has changed so much since then.  Think chubbier. :)

First bottle a few weeks ago.  He GULPED it down...much better than our first attempts with the other two.  Don't know if it's the baby or the new bottle...

Second bottle, since Judson wasn't here for the first one.

Judson sharing all of his "cozies."

More wet fun

This morning, while the sun happened to be peeking out between clouds, I ran outside to take the garbage.  Judson and Cooper followed me, barefooted.  I told them they could play outside, but needed to put shoes on.  Judson asked if he could put on his swimming stuff to play in the wet grass.  I agreed.  Of course Cooper had to follow suit, but was smart enough to put pants over her swimsuit bottoms.

When we were outside, Judson said, "Cooper, when it's summer, we're going to have SO MUCH fun playing outside in the water!"  Then he said, "Mom, do you think it's always going to be summer at heaven?"  One can hope.  :)

One thing led to another and soon we were trekking back to the field to play in the stream that flows to the pond.  The kids had a blast, and Cooper didn't get too wet.  The sun disappeared and raindrops were hitting the pond as we headed in for baths and lunch.  Within five minutes of getting inside, it was hailing.

The best part about them wearing their swimsuits and Crocs?  A lot less laundry (which is already done)!!  :)

Part of the stream that flows right through our field

Time to head inside!

We can't leave this guy out!  He slept happily in the front pack the whole time.
